Fire outbreak has gutted a popular motor park in Jos, the Plateau State capital. The motor park known as ‘NTA park’ located just opposite the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) was engulfed in the inferno in the early hours of the night, Wednesday, 23rd of November, 2022.
It was gathered that the fire started due to epileptic power supply which sparked up, causing the inferno.
No lives, vehicle was lost in the inferno as confirmed by the motor park’s Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Maikwudi.
The chairman of the Park, Ibrahim Maikwudi, who confirmed the development stated that no life or vehicle was lost.
“We were there around 7 pm. The fire started in the office of our Financial Secretary and spread to shops around the park,” he said.
“The fire was much because it started where tires and forgotten items of passengers were kept and everything was burnt down. The drivers who always sleep in the park were still around, they were able to quickly remove their vehicles and that saved vehicles from being burnt. But the fire spread to shops and razed them.”
In the same vein the office of the financial secretary of the motor park was affected along with two other shops which was gutted by the fire.
Activities is gradually returning to the park as at this morning and business owners were seen clearing debris from the inferno.
