Vigilante Shot D£ad A 22-year-old Man, Femi Olowofoyekun In Delta (Photos)

A vigilante member identified as Sylvester Debi allegedly killed a 28-year-old Sapele based electrician, Femi Olowofoyekun in Delta State.

Salemgists learnt that Femi was killed few minutes past 1.00am Wednesday March 16 around Ofotuku Road in Ugwanja area of Sapele Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect who is now in police custody suddenly emerged and shot the young man dead while he watching a traditional worshippers dance festival in the area.

An eyewitness said:

“His vigilante colleagues wasted no time in arresting him and taking him to the police station and as I speak to you, he is behind the bars while investigation will be carried out.”

Also confirming the incident, Femi’s elder brother, Blessing Olowofoyekun said the suspect had threatened to kill his younger brother.

He said Sylvester Debi, who had argument with some persons at the festival, sighted Femi Olowofeyekun, coming down from the height of one of the canopies, after installing electricity.

He (Sylvester) purportedly took a Pump-action gun from one of his boys (another vigilante) and shot on the left eye of the unsuspecting Femi Olowofeyekun, killing him on the spot.

The organiser of the event, Gina Okotie was asked to report at Police Station to give her statement, but was later detained by the Police Officers on duty at the station.

Gina was later released after their family members intervened. Blessing Olowofoyekun explained that when he got to the Police Station, he saw the suspect, Sylvester Debi, trying to allegedly link the death of Femi Olowofoyekun to cult clash.

Blessing said he told the Police Officers, how Sylvester allegedly killed his younger brother, Femi and he (Sylvester) was immediately arrested and detained at the Police Station.

Blessing Olowofoyekun, raised alarm of possible plot by some Police Officers to change the narrative, in a bid to give Sylvester Debi a safe landing.

He said the remains of his brother (Femi) has been deposited at Sapele General Hospital morgue.
