The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Wednesday evening released a former governor of Anambra State on administrative bail.
It was gathered that Obiano’s “passport was taken by the anti-graft agency as part of his bail conditions.
Obiano was apprehended by the anti-graft agency at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Thursday about 8:30 p.m., hours after he had left office and given over to the incoming Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo.
When he was captured, he was apparently on his way to the United States of America.
He was then moved to the commission’s offices, where he was interrogated for days over suspected mishandling of N5 billion in Sure-P funds, N37 billion in security votes that were withdrawn in cash, and some inflated contracts.
